OUR STORY

OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

Our story begins in 1870, in the southern mountains of Cuba where brothers Jose Maria and Ramon Gavina planted the seeds that would become a Gavina coffee legacy. Francisco Gavina, our family’s patriarch, played and worked in those coffee fields with his father, learning how to cultivate, and later, roast great coffee. His passion carried on after our family fled Cuba and settled in Los Angeles. He founded F. Gavina & Sons, Inc. in 1967, fulfilling his dream to roast great quality coffee again.

Today, we work together as the third and fourth generation Gavinas to ensure we are providing a great cup of coffee you will enjoy every time.

From sourcing high quality coffees to personally cupping samples each morning. It is this careful attention to detail that allows us to ensure you are getting the best quality coffee.

We source our green coffee beans from the world’s most respected coffee growing regions, using partners we know and trust.

To us, roasting is an art that enhances the coffee’s natural flavor, which is why we are committed to finding the perfect roast for each individual coffee.

GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and internal controls ensure we meet specifications for roast color, moisture, content, grind, packaging integrity and oxygen levels. All of our coffee is tested and cupped to ensure it meets these standards.

Start with fresh, cold water. Use two rounded tablespoons per six-ounce serving -- a pinch more or less to suit personal taste.

Fill a glass with ice. Add the coffee, milk and syrup. Stir and enjoy.

Pour the sweetened condensed milk into the glass then add the hot coffee. Fill the glass with ice.
