How to Brew the Perfect Cup of Bourbon Infused Coffee:

What makes Don Pablo Specialty Coffees the Best?

Coffee soaked in fine Kentucky Bourbon, then roasted to remove the alcohol, so only the Bourbon flavor remains...

Our Organic Specialty Grade coffee is soaked in fine Kentucky Bourbon before it’s roasted, until the beans absorb every drop. It is then dried and roasted in small batches to a perfect golden blonde roast. The natural sugars in the beans and the Bourbon are in perfect harmony when roasted just right. The result is an intense and full bodied coffee with Bourbon flavor notes of caramel, honey and butterscotch. The marriage of these natural flavors is a fine balance of sweet and spice, fruitiness and nuttiness, partially derived from the Bourbon’s maturation in seasoned oak casks. The Coffee’s natural cocoa-toned finish is very smooth and velvet-like with a lasting residual sweetness that calls for another sip!

As soon as you open the package, the sweet powerful aroma of Bourbon may give you a hint that this is not an everyday coffee.

This item is in a category of its own. It is not conventionally flavored coffee, which is made with chemical flavoring, and it is not "Bourbon Barrel Aged” coffee, rather the coffee beans are actually soaked in Kentucky Bourbon for several days, then dried and roasted Golden Blonde to perfection. The resulting taste is a perfect balance of Bourbon and coffee flavors, without the alcohol.

Note: The roast is Golden Blonde in temperature, giving the outside a glossy, deep brown color, but the liquid Bourbon locked inside the bean during roasting, prevents the over-caramelization of the natural sugars in the coffee so the color is bright gold when ground. The resulting taste is a perfect balance of Bourbon and coffee flavors.

Traditional Drip Machine: Add two level measuring tablespoons of finely ground coffee (fine granular sand, not yet a powder) to each six ounce cup of water.

Hand Drip Method: Add 2 level measuring tablespoons of medium-fine ground coffee to each six ounce cup of water. Heat water to 190-195 F (88-90.5 C) degrees, pre-soak grounds, slowly add water in a clockwise motion. Adjust to taste.

French Press: Add 2 level measuring tablespoons of coarse ground coffee per six ounce cup of water and adjust to taste. Water temperature should be between 190-195 F (88-90.5 C) degrees. Never add boiling water.

Cold Brew: Steep equal amounts of coarse ground coffee and filtered water in a covered container for 12-24 hours, strain coffee out and use cheesecloth or a paper coffee filter to remove leftover grounds. Add water to taste.

*For an unforgettably intense Bourbon flavor and aroma, add two fully rounded measuring tablespoons of finely ground coffee to each six ounce cup of water.

We have relationships at the point of origin that give us a dedicated source of supply of the finest Arabica beans available. We grow, pick, and process our own coffee beans in Colombia and manage the production of over 1,000,000 coffee trees in South America through our Sharing Certified Program. We never blend our coffees with Robusta, past crop, or defective beans. We have an on staff Q Grader who ensures the quality of every bean we roast. Our roasting facility is Food Safety Certified, and Certified for Organic Production.

We slow roast our special beans in small batches to ensure they reach optimum flavor. Our loyal customers wouldn’t have it any other way. We found people who really appreciate a great cup of rich, aromatic, coffee can taste the difference between our fresh, properly roasted beans, and others that are roasted by the metric ton and sold by huge corporations. We roast in multiple small batch coffee roasters in a process that is half art and half science. We artisan roast by sight, smell, and sound to assure that the natural sugars in the bean are being caramelized just right

Besides the finest quality Arabica beans and artisan roasting, another secret to great tasting coffee is freshness. The shorter the time from the roaster to your cup, the better the coffee tastes. We accomplish maximum freshness by roasting to order, instead of on a production schedule like our competitors. We roast to order in regional small batch roasting facilities in the U.S. You can smell the difference! Make your coffee as strong or as mild as you like by adjusting the ratio of coffee to water. Cafe Don Pablo coffees are always rich, smooth and delicious!
