About us
We believe every cup should carry meaning. That’s why we work closely with our farming partners, not only to source better coffee?but to tell the real stories behind it.
We bring you closer to the origin?one meaningful cup at a time. With Hug & Mug, you’re not just drinking great coffee. You’re part of a story that begins on the farm and ends with connection.
This is where your Hug & Mug coffee begins? farm in Dalat, Vietnam. Nestled at 1,550 meters, this microlot produces vibrant, clean flavors we proudly share with you. This batch is estimated scored around 84 by CQI/SCA Q Graders. We work side-by-side with local farmers to bring you traceable, ethically sourced brews with depth, story, and soul.
Most coffee supply chains leave farmers behind. We’re changing that?by honoring their work and telling their stories, so every cup connects you to something real. Your choice supports smallholder communities, celebrates craftsmanship, and helps build a more transparent, human coffee trade.
This farm is located in Dalat, Vietnam, perched on a hillside at 1,550 meters above sea level, nestled against pine forests and facing south. The rainy season runs from May to September, with the harvest period beginning in late December and continuing through the Lunar New Year. The farm cultivates the Catimor variety ? a hybrid of Arabica and Robusta ? naturally known for its rich, syrupy body reminiscent of maple syrup. These beans are ideal for those who enjoy a smooth, sweet, and full-bodied cup from a medium-dark roast espresso. They also serve as an excellent base in blends, adding balance and depth to the final profile.
Over the past decade, we’ve built strong relationships with coffee farmers by sharing our beans with friends and family. In 2023, after much encouragement, we officially launched our coffee business, focusing on close collaboration with farmers. These partnerships allow us to reserve exclusive, small-batch experimental lots and ensure that only fully ripe cherries are hand-selected. This inaugural batch embodies our commitment to quality and collaboration, as well as our mission to bring Vietnamese specialty coffee to the international stage.
